About me and my approach

I have been counselling since 1994, and enjoy what for me is the “common sense” approach of Gestalt and its capacity to offer both challenge and compassion in a non-judgmental environment.

I am interested in enabling those who may feel that they are lacking in direction, to explore how they might create a better way of being in the world.

As well as my interest in facilitating personal development, I also have considerable experience of counselling in mental health and educational settings and take GP and psychiatric referrals.

I have particular experience of working with depression, fear, anxiety and panic attacks.

I have completed in excess of 7 years’ counselling and psychotherapy training and I regard my own personal development as a crucial element in my work with clients. In addition I have a significant commitment to continuing professional development. My professional interests include Attachment Theory and Somatic Trauma Therapy and their incorporation within a Gestalt framework.

I draw on Gestalt as my philosophy for living and personal growth.

I am a BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy, both from the Gestalt Centre London and a Degree in Psychology from Middlesex University.

I am accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Codes of Ethics.

I do not discrimate on the basis of race, colour, national or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation or physical disability.
